IMPORTANT CUSTOMER ANNOUNCEMENT- WEDNESDAY 26 MAY
Late yesterday afternoon the Directors of public health in the eight areas where additional caution was advised on the government website issued a joint statement, confirming;
“Following the national coverage of recently revised guidance we have met with national officials and confirmed that there are no restrictions in or out of each of our areas: there are no local lockdowns.”
We understand that in these areas the public health teams are also working to increase testing and vaccination.
Throughout the pandemic we have always followed the government advice in place and as such we will be operating pickups as normal for departures travelling on and after Saturday 29 May.
We would like to reassure customers that we are taking all relevant precautions to keep everyone safe and have Covid secure risk assessments in place that have been reviewed by an Independent Health and Safety Consultant. We have also been accredited with both the Visit Britain ‘Good to Go’ and AA Covid Confident accreditations for the measures we have in place for controlling the spread of the virus on our Coaches and in the Hotels.
We would also like to reiterate our guidance that all customers make use of the free lateral flow tests that are available from most local chemists prior to travelling and that any customers with symptoms do not travel. Customers who are symptomatic are able to transfer their holiday free of charge to a later date under our Coronavirus Peace of Mind Guarantee.
Customers should also be reassured by the latest published Government data as at the 16 May, that confirms that 96.8% of over 60’s have now received the first dose of their Covid vaccine and 81.3% in this age range are fully vaccinated.
We would also like to extend our apologies to customers who were due to travel today and whose holidays were cancelled as a result of the Government guidance which was in place yesterday morning that has now been reversed. We also hope that you can appreciate that given the short lead in to today’s departures (less than 24hrs), we had no option but to react to the guidance received to ensure that we were able to contact all customers affected.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support during these times.
