Alfa Driver of the Year 2021
For the first time in Alfa Travel history, we have joint winners of the Alfa Travel 2021 Tour Driver of the Year Award, which have been awarded to Derek Ashley and Shaun Raven!
Regular guests will know how invaluable a knowledgeable and helpful driver is and how it makes all the difference on a coach holiday. What’s more, a coach driver with real character and personality puts the WOW factor into a holiday or short break.
With drivers having such a key role to play in the delivery of outstanding service to our guests, it is only right that your feedback provides significant contribution to judging this award. In addition to this, a range of other driver related skills are taken into account, ensuring the award recognises the drivers who perform to the pinnacle of their profession throughout the season.
This long running award always generates a lot of excitement and competitive spirit amongst our driver team.
Joint Winner - Driver of the Year -Derek Ashley, North West Regional Team
Derek is a resort based driver in Llandudno and operates out of our North West area and is also one of our Employee Owner Trustees. Derek continues to set really high standards with the highest standard of safety as recorded by our on-board Lytx camera systems. In addition to his very high levels of safety and compliance Derek continues to receive great feedback.
Joint Winner - Driver of the Year -Shaun Raven, North West Regional Team
Shaun is a resort based driver in Scarborough and also operates out of our North West area. A past winner of the Driver of the Year, Shaun also completed 2021 with the highest standard of safety as recorded by our on-board Lytx camera systems. Customers continue to give great feedback about their holiday when Shaun is the driver.

Driver of the Year - 3rd Place - Andrew McDonald, North West Regional Team
Andy joined our North West driving team when we restarted in 2020 and has quickly settled into the Alfa Travel way with very high standards, providing excellent customer feedback and the highest standard of safety through 2021.
Rising Star Award - Lee Gilmore, South Regional Team
This award is to recognise a new driver who joined us part way through the season. Drivers who join part way through the year are welcomed to the Alfa Travel family and demonstrate our core values from the start. This award is for a rising star amongst the drivers.
Well done to Lee Gilmore who is part of our South team. Lee joined the team in June and with excellent customer feedback, Lee is creating a great impression so far.
