Porthcawl lies on a beautiful stretch of coast with sandy beaches and rocky cliffs, yet is only a short drive from the fascinating cities of Cardiff and Swansea. It is famous for its many golf courses including the world famous Royal Porthcawl. A rocky promontory with spectacular sea views separates the golf course from the main part of the town including the harbour and the expansive sandy beach to the east behind which lies a fairground with a variety of rides and amusements. There is an attractive high street with numerous shops and the fascinating Grand Pavilion offers theatre and a pleasant bar. There is good bathing from several beaches and the Atlantic swell ensures there is often excellent surfing.
The town centre is just a short walk from the hotel and has a variety of attractive shops. Nearby Bridgend offers a wide selection of shops and a designer outlet shopping mall. The striking Grand Pavilion was originally designed as a Palm Court but today offers a wide variety of top class entertainment including theatre, comedy, variety and musicals.
Porthcawl has several beaches and some lovely countryside walks. The town is well kept and there is a small harbour.
We pride ourselves on delivering consistently high standards throughout our hotels: clean rooms, good quality décor, bright modern bathrooms and attention to the small details that make all the difference to your stay. All hotels have a ballroom or large area for dancing and most have comfortable lounges, sun lounges or games areas where you’re free to while away the hours. Many guest rooms boast fabulous sea views, and all are immaculately presented and provided with an en suite bath or shower & WC, central heating, hair dryer, tea/coffee making facilities and television with radio channels. Most also have internal telephones to take incoming calls, contact Reception or call other rooms.
The hotel has a small number of ground floor bedrooms. There are five steps to the front door, although level access is available through side entrances. Many rooms are level access from the lift, although some have several stairs to negotiate. Please ensure you submit a special requirements form if you have any mobility difficulties which may affect your holiday.
