Criccieth lies on the south coast of the Llyn Peninsula, where the edge of Snowdonia National Park meets the sea, with spectacular views over Cardigan Bay. The medieval castle, originally Welsh but later taken and reinforced by the Normans, dominates the town. The castle headland divides the seafront into two with a pebbly bay to the west and a sheltered mainly sandy bay to the east. This area of Wales is ideal for walking, from the gentle rolling hills of the Llyn Peninsula in the west to the soaring majesty of Snowdonia in the east with delightful gardens and castles at every turn. Criccieth railway station provides a great way to visit Porthmadog or Pwllheli on the Cambrian line as well as giving an easy route to explore the world famous Ffestiniog and the recently completed Welsh Highland Railway.
Criccieth has a selection of family run shops and some good pubs and restaurants. There is plenty of parking and some pleasant walks around town.
Criccieth boasts two Blue Flag beaches which are clean and safe for families. There is a range of watersports such as sailing and fishing and the area is also renowned for its spectacular sunsets. Due to its temperate climate, the town is awash with floral colour almost all year round.
We pride ourselves on delivering consistently high standards throughout our hotels: clean rooms, good quality décor, bright modern bathrooms and attention to the small details that make all the difference to your stay. All hotels have a ballroom or large area for dancing and most have comfortable lounges, sun lounges or games areas where you're free to while away the hours. Many guest rooms boast fabulous sea views, and all are immaculately presented and provided with an en suite bath or shower & WC, central heating, hair dryer, tea/coffee making facilities and television with radio channels. Most also have internal telephones to take incoming calls, contact Reception or call other rooms.
There are 4 steps to the front entrance of the hotel and all public rooms are on the ground floor with level access. Alternatively there is a side entrance with level access. The lift is suitable for a wheelchair and serves all floors, please note that some rooms may have additional steps to negotiate from the lift and there are no ground floor bedrooms. Please ensure you submit a special requirements form if you have any mobility difficulties which may affect your holiday.
