The birthplace of the industrial revolution, there are many buildings that evoke the eras of the past which are interspersed with modern skyscrapers. World-class shopping can be found in the Arndale Centre and surrounding streets.

Day 4 - Full Day Chester including River Dee Cruise

  • Discover the medieval city of Chester - a city rich in history and heritage which is evident at every turn! The Roman Amphitheatre, the walls and cathedral are well worth exploring - as are the independent and high street shops along the iconic 'Rows'.
  • We will also enjoy a relaxing cruise on the River Dee which will take us past spectacular riverside homes and gardens and out of the city limits into the leafy countryside. Meandering through the Eaton Estate, the ancestral home of the Duke of Westminster, this is a tranquil stretch of the river with ample opportunities to spot wildlife on the banks as well as admiring some of the historic bridges that span the waters.
