Based at Alvaston Hall in Cheshire, A Grade II listed Victorian property, Alvaston Hall is a half-timbered country house that can be traced back thousands of years to when it was the home of a Saxon farmer named Aelfgar. It has a pin-drop peaceful setting with award-winning gardens, a large pool, and a pick of restaurants and lounges. Just five minutes’ drive from the riverside town of Nantwich, the hotel makes a great base for exploring Cheshire’s green spaces and history. Days feature garden and house tours, dance workshops, competitions, movies, quizzes, fitness classes and more. Nightly live music caters for fancy footwork through to more footloose moves on the dance floor with ballroom and disco dancing. Evenings start with pre-dinner lounge sets, and finish with shows and live performances from a Whitney Houston Tribute.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Outward Travel

Day 2 - Chester

  • Chester is a classic, contemporary city bursting with shops, eateries, tourist attractions and over 2000 years of history.
  • Home of the most complete city walls, oldest racecourse and largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain as well as the UK's number one zoo (entry fees may apply).
  • Chester Cathedral's 'Tower Tour' allows you to see one city, two countries and five counties from the top of the tower (fees apply. May be unsuitable for mobility impaired).

Day 3 - Day at Leisure

  • Today is left free to allow for relaxing in the hotel or exploring the local area.
  • Don't hesitate to enquire with the hotel reception regarding local attractions and travel options.

Day 4 - Llangollen

  • The ancient town of Llangollen, situated on the River Dee, is home to the International Eisteddfod, the Welsh festival of literature, music and performance.
  • Llangollen Museum allows both visitors and locals easy access to information and displays about the area's heritage.

Day 5 - Return Travel

Important Information

Customers will be required to wear face coverings whilst travelling on our coaches and at the interchanges, unless they are unable to do so due to breathing difficulties or a disability. Customers unable to wear a face covering are advised to complete a special requirement form before travelling so the driver is aware. Our drivers and interchange teams will wear face coverings until all customers have boarded the coach and whilst handling luggage. All feeder vehicles will be required to operate in accordance with our Alfa Coaches Covid-secure procedures. Customers will be required to adhere to safety measures at interchange, which are likely to include restrictions on the capacity numbers in the services at any one time and socially distanced queues both inside and outside the Services. We will be utilising employees at the interchange as marshals, to make sure passengers are following the correct social distancing measures whilst providing extra reassurance and support. Random customer temperature checks by members of the team wearing appropriate PPE will be undertaken at the interchange. All excursions and venues featured within our holiday programmes will be risk assessed to ensure that we are still able to still deliver a memorable holiday experience operating in accordance with our own Covid-secure procedures. The availability of any attraction mentioned in the resort or excursion descriptions cannot be guaranteed.

Reliable Coaches


Most of our holidays are operated by our own fleet of mostly modern Mercedes luxury coaches, all of which have an on board washroom and are air conditioned. We also work with selected third party coach operators who supplement our own fleet during peak periods. The facilities on third party coaches can vary, but the majority have air conditioning. We are members of the Confederation of Passenger Transport and the Coach Tourism Association – bodies established to encourage standards of excellence in our industry.
