Itinerary

Day 1 - Outward Travel

Day 2 - Galway City en-route to resort

  • Galway City is a picturesque and lively port city, one of the main centres of trade in Ireland's west.
  • The spectacular Spanish Arch is named after the Spanish traders who used to dock in this part of the city.
  • The Latin Quarter is home to several musums (entry fees may apply) and remnants of the city walls.

Day 3 - Connemara incl Fjord Cruise & Abbey tour.

  • Killary Fjord is the only fjord in Ireland, offering dramatic scenery, especially from the water.
  • We take a cruise (included in tour cost) from Killary harbour.
  • Expert commentary reveals the important sights and the history of the landscape.
  • The Benedictine Abbey of Kylemore (entrance included) is home to a community of nuns.
  • We are guided on our visit as we explore the gothic church and walled gardens.
  • The nearby lake shore is a scenic delight.

Day 4 - Day at Leisure

  • Today is left free to allow for relaxing in the hotel or exploring the local area.
  • Don't hesitate to enquire with the hotel reception regarding local attractions and travel options.

Day 5 - Achill Island

  • We follow the Atlantic Coast on guided tour (included in tour cost) to Achill Island, along the shores of Clew Bay.
  • Alongside Achill Sound is the castle of the Pirate Queen Grace O'Malley.
  • Among other sights we also visit the beautifully haunting abandoned village of Slievemore.

Important Information

Customers will be required to wear face coverings whilst travelling on our coaches and at the interchanges, unless they are unable to do so due to breathing difficulties or a disability. Customers unable to wear a face covering are advised to complete a special requirement form before travelling so the driver is aware. Our drivers and interchange teams will wear face coverings until all customers have boarded the coach and whilst handling luggage. All feeder vehicles will be required to operate in accordance with our Alfa Coaches Covid-secure procedures. Customers will be required to adhere to safety measures at interchange, which are likely to include restrictions on the capacity numbers in the services at any one time and socially distanced queues both inside and outside the Services. We will be utilising employees at the interchange as marshals, to make sure passengers are following the correct social distancing measures whilst providing extra reassurance and support. Random customer temperature checks by members of the team wearing appropriate PPE will be undertaken at the interchange. All excursions and venues featured within our holiday programmes will be risk assessed to ensure that we are still able to still deliver a memorable holiday experience operating in accordance with our own Covid-secure procedures. The availability of any attraction mentioned in the resort or excursion descriptions cannot be guaranteed.

The 4 star Westport Woods Hotel and Apa is set in seven acres of beautiful tranquil woodland and is just steps from Clew Bay. All guestrooms are en-suite and include LCD TVs, free WiFi and tea & coffee making facilities. The hotel also features an indoor pool and steam room.

Reliable Coaches


Most of our holidays are operated by our own fleet of mostly modern Mercedes luxury coaches, all of which have an on board washroom and are air conditioned. We also work with selected third party coach operators who supplement our own fleet during peak periods. The facilities on third party coaches can vary, but the majority have air conditioning. We are members of the Confederation of Passenger Transport and the Coach Tourism Association – bodies established to encourage standards of excellence in our industry.
