Day 2 - Half Day Cockermouth

  • We visit Cockermouth, famed as the birthplace of poet William Wordsworth, scientist John Dalton, and Bounty mutineer Fletcher Christian. Today, the town is home to attractions such as Jennings Brewery, the Kirkgate Arts Centre, and a museum dedicated to tools and ironmongery. Cockermouth offers a fascinating blend of history, literature, culture, and shopping. Day 3 - Full Day Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway and Muncaster Castle

  • After a scenic drive, we step aboard a slice of heritage with a journey on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway affectionately known as La’al Ratty. This delightful narrow-gauge steam train winds its way through seven scenic miles of the Lake District National Park, from the coastal village of Ravenglass to the foot of the fells at Dalegarth. As the gentle chug of the engine carries you past woodlands, rivers, and breathtaking views of the Eskdale Valley, you’ll feel as though time has slowed down just for you. It’s a nostalgic treat, rich in history and natural beauty the perfect way to enjoy the tranquil charm of Cumbria at a relaxed pace. We then make the short journey to Muncaster Castle, where we step into a world of history, mystery, and majestic beauty. Set against the stunning backdrop of the western Lake District, this historic gem offers more than just grand rooms and ancient tales — it’s home to enchanting gardens, daily owl displays, and panoramic views of the Eskdale Valley. Wander through vibrant floral walkways or explore the Castle’s famous ghostly past. Whether you're drawn by history or horticulture, Muncaster is a magical day out.
