The Isle of Wight has superb sandy beaches, stunning countryside and exhilarating coastal walks. Sandown became fashionable in the Victorian period and today remains the island's principal resort offering a wealth of entertainment. It has an excellent beach and is surrounded by a varied landscape of gentle downs and majestic cliffs. Other attractions include the pier, which is right in front of our hotel, Brown's Pleasure Park, the award-winning Big Cat Sanctuary and the Museum of Geology. Dinosaur Isle offers life-like dinosaur models and skeletons and is popular with all ages. Nearby Brading has a Doll Museum and a Roman Villa complete with mosaic floors.

Regular markets take place on Sunday and Monday in summer to supplement Sandown's shops, cafes and restaurants.

BEACH & GARDENS

Sandown boasts a clean, safe and extensive beach with miles of golden sands. Its esplanades and seawall walks stretch from Yaverland southwards through Lake to Shanklin Chine. Its gardens include Los Altos, Sandham Grounds and the delightful clifftop garden at Ferncliff.

We pride ourselves on delivering consistently high standards throughout our hotels: clean rooms, good quality décor, bright modern bathrooms and attention to the small details that make all the difference to your stay. All hotels have a ballroom or large area for dancing and most have comfortable lounges, sun lounges or games areas where you’re free to while away the hours. Many guest rooms boast fabulous sea views, and all are immaculately presented and provided with an en suite bath or shower & WC, central heating, hair dryer, tea/coffee making facilities and television with radio channels. Most also have internal telephones to take incoming calls, contact Reception or call other rooms.

SPECIAL INFO

The hotel has four unavoidable steps to the front entrance and there are also four stairs from Reception down to the ballroom and a further three stairs between the ballroom and the restaurant. There are no ground floor rooms and all of the bedroom corridors have small changes of level. Please ensure you submit a special requirements form if you have any mobility difficulties which may affect your holiday.
