There are many different opportunities at Alfa Leisureplex, from office-based positions at our Head Office in Chorley, Lancashire, to hotel staff roles across our 21 Leisureplex Hotels, to working as part of our Traffic Operations team, in Customer Care or as one of our valued Coach Drivers. Our 21 hotels each have a small core of permanent management staff who recruit, train and manage over 400 seasonal employees each year. Many of our seasonal staff are recruited locally to the hotels, and in addition many of our hotels can provide on-site staff accommodation, meaning that a number of staff join us from further afield, many from overseas. Our hotels are situated in the UK’s most popular resorts, across Cornwall, Somerset & Devon, the South East, Wales, Northern England and Scotland.

Our Head Office is situated in Euxton near Chorley in Lancashire, where we employ staff in Reservations, Sales, Marketing, and other support functions such as Accounts and IT. Staff turnover at Chorley is very low, but we are always interested to hear from people who would be interested in working for us (full or part time). Our transport operations are very diverse and we employ coach drivers, interchange staff and schedulers based in the North West (Preston/Chorley), North East (Bowburn), Yorkshire (Woodall), Midlands (Tamworth) and South East (Reading area) of England.


Job Title: Leisureplex Accounts Assistant

Salary: circa 14k – 17k (Apprentices are paid at our apprentice rate)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday – Friday)

Closing Date: 14 June 2017

Who we are

An exciting opportunity to join the Finance Team of Leisureplex Hotels Limited, which is part of an employee owned group, with turnover over in excess of £38m per annum. Leisureplex Hotels Limited owns and operates 21 hotels in coastal locations across England, Scotland and Wales. Part of the Alfa Leisureplex Group, Leisureplex has two sister companies, Alfa Travel, a Coach Holiday Operator and Alfa Coaches, a coach fleet operator. Leisureplex is the primary provider of the hotel accommodation to Alfa Travel.

Environment: Working in a friendly established group head office finance team. The team provides a complete finance function for the Alfa Leisureplex Group.

Accountable to: Leisureplex Accounts Manager

About the job

  • To oversee the sales ledger operations of Leisureplex Hotels:
    • Reconciliations
    • Collections management/debt chasing
    • Data maintenance
  • To assist in the operation of the purchase ledger for Leisureplex Hotels
    • Invoice & payment processing
    • Statement reconciliations & query management
    • Data maintenance
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Review weekly income, costs and petty cash spends at the hotels
  • Other general finance administration
  • Other tasks as reasonably requested by the Accounts Manager or Financial Controller.

Who we are looking for

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail required
  • Good level of computer literacy, in particular must be comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel at an intermediate level
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential
  • Would suit either an AAT trainee or a graduate looking for a first move after university, with an interest to pursue a career in Finance
  • School leavers or candidates looking for an apprenticeship would also be encouraged to apply
  • Previous office, accounts and/or travel industry experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided

About the Job

We are seeking to recruit a number of coach drivers to join our team for the remainder of the season 2017 and moving forward on a variety of contracts from permanent, part time or even on casual basis. The role involves providing a safe and comfortable environment for our customers to enjoy their holiday in regard to travel.

You will be in charge of a coach predominately working on feeder routes into our Interchanges situated throughout the country; Bowburn, Burtonwood, Woodall, Tamworth and Reading then transporting our customers on to a Holiday Destination. Whilst in resort you will responsible for the Holiday Tours and excursions. We do ask the drivers are willing to participate in private hire work as this is a growing area for us during the less busy season in particular. With our national presence, we can accommodate applications whatever your home location.

Who are we looking for

Having previous experience of operating Coach Tours would be a distinct advantage including possessing the relevant PCV qualifications to operate one of our coaches. We are looking for successful candidates to be more than just a driver; having the ability to demonstrate a real passion for customer service is vital to delivering a great holiday. Being able to adapt depending on the situation and being confident working with members of the pubic is also essential.
