Aberfoyle which lies in one of Europe’s most beautiful locations at the southern edge of the West Highland Fault. The village is without doubt the most important gateway to the Trossachs, an area of wild glens, lush forests, sparkling lochs and breath-taking natural beauty. This is also the old stomping ground of the notorious Scottish folk hero Rob Roy McGregor, a man forced into thievery who also looked after the poor. More can be learned of his birth, life and death by taking one of the walks along the Rob Roy Way, which covers almost 80 miles of breathtaking scenery.
