Scarborough Jazz Festival
Held in September, the festival offers a weekend of performances from regional and national artists.
This annual festival celebrates the region’s maritime and fishing connections and features a range of activities, as well as a magnificent fireworks display.
In September a number of events are held to mark the original Scarborough Fair which started in the 12th century.
Scarborough Ghost Walks
Walks takes place each Thursday evening from Easter to Halloween. Participants can learn about the intriguing, and sometimes gruesome history of some of the town’s historic sites.
NYMR Spring Gala
takes place in April, with a varied line-up of engines, model railways, demonstrations and a photographic exhibition.
Filey Folk Festival
is held at the beginning of May and includes performances by local and international artists.
takes place in June and features such events as Treasure Hunt, barbecue, fun runs and musical entertainment.
Bram Stoker International Film Festival
Held in Whitby in October, the festival is a celebration of the sci-fi/horror movie genre.
A three day programme of sailing and land based events ending with a spectacular fireworks display takes place in August.
