Kilkenny Arts Festival
takes place in August and offers an exciting programme of music, dance, visual arts and theatre.
The Cat Laughs Comedy Festival
is a world-class event which unites the best of Irish and international talent. Held at the end of May, the festival has been running for almost 20 years.
Abhainn Rí Festival,
held in August, is a celebration of local heritage which features 10 days of live music performances, dance, food stalls and sporting events.
Graiguenamanagh ‘Town of Books’ Festival
takes place in September and offers a host of events including nature and river walks, book sales and readings and brass bands.
Kilkenny Heritage Week
is held in August and features around 60 different events, from medieval fairs and bat walks to coastal events and archaeological digs.
Instigoe Summer Festival
takes place in June and includes events for all the family, including vintage car displays, circus performers, dog shows and fun runs.
Kilkenny Celtic Festival
is traditionally held in October to celebrate Celtic history with Irish dancing, song, traditional Irish folk music and street performers.
