Skegness is the largest resort in Lincolnshire and was also one of the first planned holiday resorts in the country. Renowned for the quality of its sea air, Coach Holidays to Skegness have been a leading holiday for decades. During the day there are six miles of sands to enjoy, plus attractive sea-front gardens and boulevards, fun fairs, swimming pools, putting, boating, excellent bowling and a marine zoo.
For the more energetic, why not try the walk to Gibraltar Point, with its sand dunes and nature reserve. In the evening there is cinema, cabaret and top class entertainment at the Embassy Theatre. The illuminations are an added attraction from July until October. Since the resort and its surrounding area is predominantly flat, it is also a popular destination for walkers, with miles of secluded pathways and open tracks through picturesque countryside waiting to be explored.
It also provides an ideal base from which to explore the beautiful city of Lincoln, which boasts one of the finest cathedrals in the country and the historic market town of Boston.
We use the Royal Hotel, which is situated in its own grounds at the southern end of the promenade.
The Lumley Road area of the town is where the best shopping can be found, with a variety of small outlets and larger stores. Several of the smaller shops are open until late seven days a week, ideal for a leisurely evening browse away from the bustle of the daytime crowds.
Beach and Gardens
Skegness beach is an expanse of fine golden sand which provides safe bathing in clean waters. For a leisurely afternoon stroll, visit the Tower Gardens, with its Pavilion, bandstand, lake shelters and abundance of colourful flowerbeds.
