Alfa Travel, always famous for outstanding guest service, is proud to announce details of the latest winners in its much celebrated, sister company Leisureplex, Hotel of the Year awards programme. These awards are much coveted by each of the Leisureplex Hotel General Managers and their dedicated teams as the results are determined by feedback received from Alfa guests.

Every party of guests travelling on an Alfa Coach holiday and staying in any of the 17 Leisureplex Hotels is asked to complete a Leisureplex guest service questionnaire. We know how important the feedback from these forms is for our guests as our return rate in 2008 is more than 95%! Indeed, we are often asked what happens to the returned questionnaires and many guests are keen to know how well their favourite Leisureplex Hotel has fared in our monthly league tables.

These completed questionnaires are equally eagerly awaited by the Customer Services/Quality Control Team back at our Head Office in Lancashire where every detail of each stay is scrutinised.

Hotels are scored against six key areas ranging from service standards in reception, housekeeping and restaurants, through to kitchen standards and food overall, bar service and entertainment. These scores are then used to ascertain first, second and third place winners in the company “Department of the Month” awards.

Ultimately this information is used to ensure we maintain and enhance the standards in all of our hotels. Monthly winners are scored cumulatively in order to determine who will win the overall “Hotel of the Year” Award.

Last year standards were impressively high and the Hotel of the Year award was split between two equally deserving winners –The Cavendish Hotel in Exmouth and The Imperial Hotel in Ilfracombe.
