Hot 100 businesses!

A Chorley business has been hailed as one of the shining lights of Lancashire business after gaining a a spot in this year’s Hot 100 company listings.

Alfa Travel Ltd is a Chorley-based coach holiday company, employing 96 staff and providing coach holidays and tours that cover the UK and most of Western Europe.

With a revenue of over £20million in the last twelve months, the company is one of the fastest growing in the country.

The top spot goes to Bolton-based business Ascribe Holdings Ltd, with a move from third place last year to first place, having more than doubled its pre-tax profits.

Running in its third year, the Hot 100 provides an overview of the most successful companies across the length and breadth of Lancashire.

The list is compiled by Lancashire Business View magazine in association with Accrington-based Haworths Chartered Accountants.

Mark Schofield, of Haworth Chartered Accountants, said: "Whilst there is no denying that times are tough for some companies, the successes documented within the Hot 100 show that it is certainly not universal."
