Highland Folk Museum
Highland Folk Museum situated within the Cairngorms National Park, the museum’s collections include, furniture, household items, agricultural implements and tools as well as buildings such as the ‘Smoke House’, ‘Clack Mill’ and iconic ‘Blackhouse’.
Ruthven Barracks is situated on the outskirts of town. The Barracks was last occupied in 1745 by the Jacobites on their way to Culloden.
Highland Wildlife Park
Highland Wildlife Park there is an array of wildlife to see, including wolves, wild horses, bison, red squirrels and wild birds. There is also an area which contains many smaller rare animals.
Clan McPherson Museum
Clan McPherson Museum situated in nearby Newtonmore, the museum houses many relics and memorials of rich historical interest.

Cairngorm Mountain Railway
Cairngorm Mountain Railway is the country’s highest and fastest funicular railway and takes its passengers to just 400 feet below the summit of the mountain. The views from the Ptarmigan top station, where there is also a restaurant, are truly breathtaking.
Dalwhinnie Distillery, at 1,073ft above sea level, is the highest distillery in the country. Visitors can see the distillers at work and sample the product.
