The early 17th century castle is the anscestral seat of Clan Farquharson and has featured in many of the important Jacobite wars of the 17th and 18th centuries.

Kindrochit Castle
The remains of the 11th century castle lie in the heart of the village and some of the original structure is still visible.

was purchased in 1852 by Prince Albert for Queen Victoria and has been the official Scottish residence for the Royal Family ever since.

Braemar Parish Church
has an attractive interior with exposed beams and shaped ceiling and beautiful lancet shaped stained glass windows.

is close to Balmoral Castle and the Royal Family are regular worshippers when in residence. Several of the splendid stained glass windows are memorials to various members of the Royal Family, including one which was dedicated by Queen Victoria to her beloved Prince Albert.
