The town of Crewe provides a great base from which to explore the delights of Cheshire, Shropshire and Wales. During the 19th century Crewe was one of the world’s greatest railway workshops and was a hotbed of craft and invention, building elegant locomotives that brought wealth and prestige to the town. Nowadays the locomotive works is far less significant, however, Crewe remains one of the largest stations in the North West and serves as a major interchange for the West Coast Main Line.
