The 16th century Old Tower houses splendid armour, books and a priest’s secret hiding place, together with fine paintings, china and furnishings collected by the family over centuries.
is a collection of weird and wonderful rock formations in Nidderdale, just outside Harrogate. The rocks form shapes that have earned names such as the Mushroom, Dancing Bear, the Eagle and the Gorilla.

Opened in 1950, Harlow Carr is set in a valley and contains a woodland garden, a herbaceous garden, rock, bog and alpine gardens. The plant and flower collections include many rare species and there is a newly opened library with online facilities and a collection of gardener’s reference books.
