There are many feasts and festivals held in this region. For further details and confirmation of dates check:

Festival of St Roc
features choir-singing, painting, folk groups and open-air cinema. Held annually in August.


Diada de Catalunya
in September is Catalonia’s National Day which marks the fall of Barcelona to Felipe V in 1714; it’s a colourful affair with red and yellow flags hanging in abundance and music and dancing.


St Joan (John) Day Celebrations
are held annually in June and include the Arrival of the Flame of Canigó Рa ritual lighting of huge bonfires meant to signify cleansing of the spirit.


International Fireworks Competition
is a world-famous week long fireworks extravaganza which attracts both entrants and spectators from all over the world. Held in Blanes in June.


Santa Cristina
is Lloret’s major summer festival, taking place in mid-July. Locals bring a statue of the Holy Virgin ashore aboard an ornately decorated flotilla.


Street Markets
are held every Thursday in Malgrat and attract both locals and tourists alike.
