Boat trips available all year round from the Palais Rohan give visitors a floating view of the city from the River Île.
Just 8 miles from Kork, Offenburg has been officially recognised as the world’s most bicycle-friendly city! Hire a bicycle to explore the baroque facades of its streets, or relax in one of the many parks – the Zwingerpark is especially beautiful in the Spring.
The famous Cathédrale de Nôtre Dame dominates Strasbourg’s old town. Built between 1190 and 1439 on the site of a Roman temple, it is the highest medieval building in Europe with a height of 142m. In the cathedral visitors can also see the extraordinary Astronomical Clock and the Parade of the Apostles which takes place daily.
Towers and footbridges situated at the end of ‘Petite France’ are the Ponts-Couverts, one of the most famous tourist attractions in Strasbourg. The 13th century fortified remains owe their name to the series of roofed, wooden footbridges.
