Covering 6 acres, these beautiful gardens came into being in 1960. Mrs Beth Chatto, a British garden designer and author. From an overgrown wasteland with poor gravel soil and boggy hollows it has been transformed into an informal garden harmonising with the surrounding countryside.

The museum displays include the nose gearing mechanism from a P47 Thunderbolt, the largest piece of a B26 Marauder in the UK, the WW2 diary of the 386th bomb group, as well as artefacts from the airfield and general WW2 items.
